You don't have to be a nurse to enjoy this book

This book is funny, sad, frightening, and at times unbelievable. As a nurse (and I also read it the first time while in nursing school) I know that every story in this book is absolutely true. I think anyone wanting an inside look into hospitals will find this enjoyable and informative. It proves that in medicine, truth is much stranger--and far more interesting--than fiction. Of the many authors whose books I have enjoyed, Echo Heron is the one I would most like to meet. From the intimate look she gives us into her life, it is easy to tell that this is a bright, funny, and incredibly caring woman.

The interloper's younger status is conveyed not just through his tinier size, but also through his dialogue, which is presented in smaller, rounder font. Though the duckling never directly asks for a bite, his incessant questioning-"Would you say that it tastes like chicken?"-infuriates the pigeon. Ultimately, the duckling's subtle approach proves successful, and both birds happily share the treat. Children, especially those with younger siblings, will have come up with this obvious solution long before the pigeon does. Willems's deceptively simple cartoon drawings convincingly portray his protagonist's emotional dilemma, from his initial joy to his frustration and struggle over what he wants to do versus what he knows is right.

PreS. In this follow-up to Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus [BKL S 1 03], the wheedling pigeon with the short fuse meets his match. "Oooooh! A hot dog!" he cries, as he zooms in for a landing on the first page. Before he can enjoy his scavenged treat, though, a little duckling scuttles over and begins asking numerous questions: "Is that a 'hot dog'?" "What do they taste like?" The pigeon loses his temper in a wing-flapping rant before the duckling innocently suggests that they share the dog, thus sparing the pigeon the frustration of having to explain the taste. Share it they do, but the pigeon knows he has been had: "You know, you're pretty smart for a duckling." Once again, Willems uses artistic minimalism (each page shows only the birds and the hot dog, rendered in basic lines) and spare, hilarious dialogue to convey surprisingly realistic emotions. Preschoolers who recognized themselves in the tantrum-throwing pigeon of the previous title will also see themselves in the calm, shrewd duckling that knows just how to get his way. Gillian Engberg

Mr. Willems, you've done it again!

As an elementary school librarian, every year I try to have an ice-breaker story for the children on their first visit to the library, especially the kindergarten students. Last year my first-day read aloud was "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus". It shocked their socks off to see the librarian stomping her feet and yelling "Let me drive the bus!" Some students requested I read it every week all year. Thank you for providing another "pigeon story" for me to start this year. Although the "hotdog" story doesn't provide opportunity for interaction that the "bus" did, it provides me the chance to stomp and yell "It just tastes like a hot dog, okay!?" Then later in the school year, when my real personality comes through, they won't be frightened. They will see me as the pigeon. The first grade students who watched my pigeon antics last year will be expecting me to top last year's performance. They will love "The pigeon finds a hotdog". I do. Please keep the pigeon stories coming.

Omg All three of these bad boys together?? Heck yeah! Here's what I thought of Justified.
Lisa Parks is a real estate agent in a quaint little town in Maine. She moved there a few months ago with her two best friends, Kari and Sicily. When they moved, Kari's younger brother, Marc Martin helped. Marc is a NYC college student. Lisa and Marc both have reputations of not wanting commitment from relationships. When Lisa met Marc a few months ago, her thoughts started to change. Marc stayed for a single weekend in Maine and they decided to not pursue whatever it was that they were feeling. Every single guy Lisa dates she pictures Marc. Kari hears from her mother that Marc has been acting depressed since his trip to Maine. Lisa decides to go back to NYC for a weekend to celebrate her mother's birthday. She ends up spending time with Marc. Can she let go of her hang ups about love vs lust??
Holy hot! This book immediately draws you in. Ali Parker outdid herself this time. To say the scenes are steamy is an understatement.

Totally hooked by this box set. Ali just keeps on delivering great storyline's, fantastic chemistry and hot sex scene 's!!
I can't wait to get Judged. Thanks Ali you are one of my favourite author 's.
This 3 part series is great. I have read all Ali's 3 part books, I find them refreshingly easy to read, stimulating with a great balance of action, suspense and sex. I highly recommend all these sets.

What a great idea!! Let's create a box set so people can keep reading and enjoy all of these characters?!?! I love this writer. She has a way of making you divest yourself fully into the story. Her characters are ones you can see in everyday life but also are amazed that you can be a part of their story. And lucky for you by buying this boxed set, you can check out all these stories and their characters. They are surely worth it. Check it out for sure!

Very disappointing

The book was not what I expected for a no-till handbook. It seemed to be a sales manual for a roller-crimper only. No other method of no-till farming is mentioned. I bought it for my company to use to help organic farmers and wasted their money.

it is a useful tool to terminate some cover crops

Too much about the roller crimper and not enough about no-till organic farming. A crimper is not the all-to answer for organic no-till farming...not by any means. In the right environmental condition, it is a useful tool to terminate some cover crops, but the book makes it seem as though it solves the termination issue mechanically. There are many situations in which the roller crimper would not be adequate.

He fought for over 2 years in front line and behind the front lines of mortal combat in the Korean war, spent some time in a POW torture camp, had to learn to walk again, use forearms and hands again. At an early age was taught in China and Japan that which is known as the Universal Spiritual Truth Knowledge which is the knowledge from which came the Spiritual Belief Systems and today's Religions. In some places it still exists in it's pure short form. It can easily be written on 3 pages. The author has used this knowledge and the functions and abilities within the Universal Life Energy for over 50 years. He possesses near to instant forgiveness. He does not do the angry and sustains serious control of Ego, the 2 most negative, destructive behavior of humans. He desires no personal publicity, desires no accolades. the universal life energy

This book presents many positive ideas drawn from varied different sources. It's somewhat repetitive, but reads fluidly. The one humourous aspect of the book is the language phrasing it is written in. The author addresses the reader in terms like "oh human" and describes things as "it be this" and "it makes the much" which is similar to theological old english texts and makes it somewhat difficult to take the book seriously. I don't know why the author felt it nessesary to write in that style. However if you can get past that, the book presents some good ideas that you can use to live your daily life.
